The founding 5 came up with the group name September of 2005. In one year we had 30+ members, our first official gathering @ Fanime 06, and first live skit performance @ Yaoi Con 06.
Yaoi Con 05 was our first random members event, where we went around the convention "Trick or Treating" the attendees. Often times one of the founding members can be seen at a convention placing Marde Gras beeds of their color around the necks of con attendees. The trick is to find all of us and get each of our colors.. ^^) You can always tell who we are by the things that we do :P
If you have ever been the "Odd Man Out" in your group of friends then you know why we formed our group. We love to run around during an anime convention spreading RCFN... what is that? you say... well it is Random Cosplay Fun Ness... this is where we meet other con attendees and get to know them. It can include getting "beaded" or a special ribbon, but many times it is smiles/handshakes/& Hugs! There are special events outside of cons too! From picnics to parades... you just never know what a group of us might plan!
Many of the members are also cosplayers. We may interact with another group of attendees and have some random roleplaying fun! Also, our members team up with each other in game tournaments, meet up at con and hang out at the dance, or partake in hours of anime viewing. Members often contact each other to find roommates for con, rides to or from, or meet up for dinner. Let's face it... no one likes to be alone or doing something that they don't like... AC DC gives you an opportunity to hang with people of similar interests while you are at con.
Most of our members are from California, but we have grown to include members in Chicago and Seattle. Joining is simple, but you get out of it what you put into it!
