  • With self-awareness, a positive attitude, and hard work, each student
progresses through our six-level merit system. As a student advances in
levels, he or she assumes additional responsibilities
while earning privileges which, for most students, were taken for
granted prior to arriving at Northwest Academy. Attaining level 3 to 6
requires a vote-up process which allows students to create the
results they desire by gaining the support of their peers, key staff
members, administration and Director Marcel Chappuis, Ph.D.

  • Northwest Academy uses an online program through the local school
system that allows Northwest Academy Students to keep current with their
credits from previous schools, helping them to gain current credits
needed for High School Graduation.  There are many situations, and each
student is different, so if there are extenuating circumstances,
Northwest Academy can assist with whatever is needed to help your child
    advance in their Academics.
As a child’s academic confidence develops and academic successes
increase, we find that the student’s ability to make appropriate choices
is increased and their behavior becomes defined as right or wrong and
far less open to the interpretation or rationalization that often
stymies the dynamics of change. View more at northwestacademy.us/academics/

  • Most teens don't start using drugs expecting to develop a substance
abuse problem, and while most teens probably see their drug use as a
casual way to have fun, there are negative effects that are a result of
this use and abuse of alcohol and other drugs. The biggest consequence
to casual drug use can be that it develops into a true addiction.
Very few addicts recognize when they have crossed the line from casual
use to addiction. View more information at www.teen-drug-abuse.org/
