This page is designed as an aid, to realising what ocd is..
why we have it and what can or cant be done about it..
I am not a professional.. a docter a psych,
im just one person that has lived with ocd for the past 15 years,
iv gone through so many stages feeling crazy.. insain.. realising what ocd is, feeling alone, hate, the whole 'why me', dealing with it,
not dealing with it, fighting it and giving in to it..
I know first hand that other people's experiences can help you
feel not so alonenot so insane..
I first had contact with other 'ocd'ers'
via webblogs a couple of years ago..
the information they gave me advice and support was a great help in understanding..

So.. what is ocd?..

Obsessive compulsive disorder.. its an illness, were not crazy, were not insane, infact ocd is like being dangled on the edge of sanity, we do crazy things we know were doing them we know there stupid,, but can we stop?.. no.

there are many many different forms of ocd.. i for one dont know all of them.. but some are..
repeating
checking
obsessive thoughts
contamination worries
counting
so many differnt compulsions come from these things.. and in varying severitys.. ocd comes as 'traits' washing your hands more often then other people.. having everything in a place ect.. there just traits.. generaly dont effect the persons life in any big way.. then theres 'ocd' were those 'trait's take a hold and you cant let them go.. thoughts..

heres were i stick in a professional explanation of ocd,

The description below is quoted from Aniextypanic.com

''Recognizing OCD

People with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) suffer intensely from recurrent, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) or rituals (compulsions), which they feel they cannot control. Rituals such as hand washing, counting, checking, or cleaning are often performed in hope of preventing obsessive thoughts or making them go away. Performing these rituals, however, provides only temporary relief, and not performing them markedly increases anxiety. Left untreated, obsessions and the need to perform rituals can take over a person’s life. OCD is often a chronic, relapsing illness.''
