Use this group to meet friends, organize gatherings, announce events - whatever!
This group was started because Galder, the former organizer of the CNY Goth meetup group and I realized that MySpace is a good way to connect people from upstate NY as a whole, whereas the meetup group is much more localized. We figure that as other upstate goth meetups spring up, they can all be involved in this group for wider announcements of concerts and such. Also, people who might otherwise never know that meetups even exist might be able to find them through us.
Eventually, I hope to list more meetups here, but for now there’s just this one local gathering:

About goth
When you’re goth, every day is Halloween. :)
Goth as a genre of music was spawned from punk in the early 80s. The goth subculture then grew around this new type of music, and began assimilating all sorts of horrific, brooding, macabre, and fun stuff. Now, goth means different things to different people; but most of us agree it’s core involves a love of things dark and spooky. We can also agree on some things goth isn’t- for instance. just because someone is a goth does not mean they are depressed, suicidal, or violent; and it certainly doesn’t mean they’re part of a religious cult.
