Over the next decade, Exorcism provided an outlet that I used to compose music which wasn't possible to perform onstage with the groups I was in. The production became more involved as I gained experience with recording processes, upgraded equipment, and enhanced my skills as a diverse musician. The evocative, ornate orchestrations I favored to create developed into a distinctively dark style all my own. The vocals expanded to accommodate black and death metal aficionados alike. Lyrical topics typically are of an introspective or spiritual nature. All instrumentation and lyrics are written, performed, and recorded by Doug Schrecengost. Exorcism is - and will remain - a studio project.
