FIERI Boston (meaning "proud" in Italian) is a non-profit organization of students and young professionals celebrating Italian culture and heritage.
We are dedicated to four major objectives:
- To preserve the Italian culture and encourage the study of Italian and Italian-American history.
- To foster the values of higher education and personal achievement in young Italian-Americans
- To facilitate career opportunities and networking relationships for young professionals
- To promote a positive image of Italian-Americans in the mass media and popular culture
FIERI Boston strives to uphold these objectives by doing the following:
- Providing our members with networking and career development opportunities
- Hosting cultural events which focus on various aspects of Italian culture (language, art, music, food, etc).
- Encouraging our members to attend Italian cinema, art exhibitions, and concerts in and around the Boston area.
- Partnering with other Boston-area Italian organizations during October Italian-American Heritage Month
- Teaching our members how to play traditional Italian games such as bocce, la scopa, briscola, tombola
- Providing opportunities to converse in Italian
