The Legend

The French Quarter is the oldest and most famous section of the city of New Orleans, Louisiana, stretching along the Mississippi River from Iberville Street to Esplanade Avenue (12 blocks) and back from Decatur Street to Rampart Street (7 blocks). The area is also known as the Vieux Carré ("Old Quarter" in French) and the Barrio Latino ("Latin Section" in Spanish). To many it is simply called "The Quarter".

The Rue Bourbon or Bourbon Street is a famous street, named after the royal family of France

New Orleans (nu ôr'le-?nz, ôr'l?nz, ôr-lenz', ô'l?nz, nyu, nô'l?nz)

A city of southeast Louisiana between the Mississippi River and Lake Pontchartrain. Founded in 1718, it became the capital of a French colony in 1722 and passed to the United States as part of the Louisiana Purchase of 1803. The city is known for its annual Mardi Gras celebrations and as the birthplace of jazz music. Population: 469,000.

Points of Interest

The picturesque French quarter (Vieux Carré) of the old city, north of broad Canal St., is a major tourist attraction. In the heart of the quarter is Jackson Square (the former Place d'Armes); fronting upon the square are the Cabildo (1795; formerly the government building, it now houses part of the Louisiana state museum); St. Louis Cathedral (1794); and other 18th- and 19th-century structures. Several world-famous restaurants, specializing in shrimp, oysters, and fish from nearby waters, uphold the New Orleans tradition of good living, and the annual Mardi Gras is perhaps the best-known festival in the United States.

About the webmaster and creator: This website will have everything and anything that has to do with Bourbon Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. The webmaster is a former resident of New Orleans, and lived on Orleans Avenue just a few doors down from Bourbon Street. He also was a general manager of a nightclub, bar, and restaurant on the very busy 700 block of Bourbon Street. He still has many ties, friends, and connections up and down the block of Bourbon. This year he has been to Mardi Gras 2007, back to visit in June, and back for Halloween and possibly New Years Eve 2008. He is a current restaurant manager in Chicago, Illinois, and hosts the site www.chicagobombsquad.com. He plans to implement ideas from his nightclub and bar promotion to www.ilovebourbonstreet.com. Check the website for future parties and trips.

About the website: The website will have many pictures of past Mardi Grass from 2003 to present, as well as past years random pictures of people partying on Bourbon Street from 2003 to present. We also will have a submission section where people can send in their own pictures from New Orleans.

The main focus of the website will be to promote and advertise the different bars of Bourbon Street and to document my trips there with pictures. We will have complete bar information, balcony rental information, bachelor and bachelorette party information, weekly specials, pictures, and even ratings.
