Historical Perspective: Avon was abolished in 1996 and Bristol restored to its rightful City and County status - Glorious! [some of our hardcore members are so incensed by use of the term Avon that hereafter it shall be referred to as A**n in order to maintain their invaluable support]
Bristol Today: Yet even today millions of people still believe we live in A**n and hundreds of thousands of unfortunate Bristolians still receive mail addressed to "Bristol, A**n". When will this despicable and degrading practice end? Right now with YOUR support. BRISTOL NEEDS YOU!
With the support of this group you can simply direct any Company or individual who continues to abuse us with the label of A**n to this page where they will be invited to attend educational sessions hosted by a team of trained Bristolians. If the abuse continues we can either abuse them back by calling anyone who's not from Bristol a "foreigner" or threaten them with the Data Protection Act which states that any information held on an individual must be accurate. As A**n doesn't officially exist this information isn't accurate and we can force them to sort out their database systems which make them enter A**n in the County field. This will of course cost them a huge amount of money and be of no material benefit to anyone, but what the hell!
On the other hand A**n is a character in Blake's Seven and that's pretty cool.... nah, TO ARMS!
