This is a group for Deaf Dog Owners...or people who love, train, raise, or just know deaf dogs.
I recently discovered that my puppy was deaf...in looking around, I haven't seen any groups on myspace. I know I, as a new Deaf Doggy Mom, could certainly use some tips...and I'd love to find a sense of community. So-tell anyone that has a deaf dog about this group and post any tips, stories, etc.
I know that some people refuse to take deaf dogs on as patients or feel that they don't deserve to live. This is a place where people who know deaf dogs and love them can get together.
Post pictures of your deaf dog so that others can enjoy your dogs too!!
BTW I know training can be difficult or confusing. In looking into it for my dog, I discovered that the programs used to train dogs for deaf people are done in the same way as training deaf dogs!!! The prices per class tend to be cheap (I guess becuase most of the people are doing it in the name of charity since the dogs are given to the deaf when fully trained) If you need such a resource, it might be worth looking into.
