Welcome to the Main Pub Open Mic group. This will be the place where you can get all of the information that you could ever want or need about the Main Pub Open Mic.
If you're here to sign up in advance for this week's open mic, please scroll to the forum at the bottom of the page. Find the posting for this week's date and post a reply requesting a time slot. Further details and information will be available in the post.
Every Wednesday, the Main Pub in Manchester, CT, presents Open Mic Night, hosted by Joe Barone. Main Pub Open Mic night is open to all who wish to perform. In addition, there is a featured performer each week. The featured performers range from solo artists to full bands and include some of the best local artists as well as regional and national touring acts.
Advance sign ups are available weekly here at our myspace group (http://groups.myspace.com/mainpubopenmic), or performers may sign up in person, beginning at 8pm every Wednesday. Open mic begins at 9:30pm.
JULY 2009 CONTEST DETAILS
THE MAIN PUB BATTLE OF THE BANDS
WIN A CHANCE TO PLAY A PAID PRIMETIME SPOT AT THE MAIN PUB
DETAILS AND RULES OF THE CONTEST:
o MUST BE A LOCAL CONNECTICUT BAND
o CONTEST WILL BE HELD EVERY WEDNESDAY IN JULY
o 12 BANDS WILL BE NOMINATED TO ENTER (MUST BE FULL BANDS)
o 3 BANDS WILL BATTLE EACH WEEK TO MOVE ON
o DURING THE FIRST ROUND EACH BAND GETS 3 SONGS
o THE SECOND ROUND WILL CONSIST OF THE 4 REMAINING BANDS
o THESE BANDS WILL BATTLE ON THE LAST WEDNESDAY OF JULY
o THE SECOND ROUND WILL CONSIST OF A HALF HOUR SET PER
BAND
o WINNER GETS A PAID SHOW ON A FRIDAY OR SATURDAY NIGHT
HOW THE CONTEST WILL BE JUDGED
o CONTESTANTS WILL BE JUDGED ON A 10 POINT SCALE
o 7 POINTS FOR CROWD APPLAUSE (7 BEING THE LOUDEST)
o 1 POINT FROM JOE / 1 POINT FROM KIETH / 1 POINT FROM RON
o MOST POINTS ADVANCES OR WINS!
