THE VOODOO MYSTERE LOUNGE is a small theatrical watering hole-cum-performance space...a la the legendary Caffe Cino...also an arts community meeting place; on Rampart Street, at the edge of the Vieux Carre in New Orleans. It makes eclecticism in booking a top priority: performance, poetry, music, comedy; all are welcome. 504.304.1568.
FOUR HUMOURS is a new New Orleans troupe that places primacy on the writer and the actor over the director, devoted mostly to new or unusual work. It produces often, but not exclusively, at the Voodoo. It's first season (the Season of Exile) credits were "Kennedy's Children," "The Third Degrees of J.O. Breeze," "L@L: Love at the Lounge," "The Bachelor in New Orleans," "Out Comes Butch," and "Uncle Vanya."
Both ventures significantly involve me. And maybe you: If you are interested in keeping abreast of productions by Four Humours or at the Voodoo, or perhaps even would like to work at or with one or the other...and that certainly includes non-New Orleanians...join up.
At the least this group will save me a lot of Event Invites and Bulletins. At most, it might even turn into another arts community meeting place.
