Yes, we’ve been doing this for five years now: a celebration of the city's cinematic history and thriving contemporary talent in a festival for the people of Salford, by the people of Salford, starring the people of Salford. But don’t ever call us parochial. The focus may be local, but the view is widescreen, and we extend an open invitation and a warm welcome to all.
This year is all about innovation, with some cult classics, unsung heroes, and a special screening to be announced later this week. Themes as diverse as music, love, gangland and sport are all topics for this years event, so if you can't find something to drag you out, then we'll be worried.
Across 9 days and as many venues we think this year will see some pretty amazing sights, so get your popcorn, grab your drink and join us for fun filled frolics in the dark.
