It's a long story really... In the 20's I was a Swedish Cultural Center, but I became run down and unloved and found myself all alone in the late 70's until one day a man by the name of Joe Shanahan came along and we fell in love. Being influenced by the New York Art and music scene he decided to present some of Chicago's best. Since then I became a cross-platform of the best local, regional and national emerging artists to Chicago. It has been fun these last few years and I haven’t stopped parting with All Ages and 21 and older Shows. I have met the most interesting people and seen the most disgusting things in my 20 plus run and you can all attest to that. Who needs to name drop when you know them all. Oh it was so cute When Blue Meanies and Local H had their first show in the same month. I tell ya... Memories on the corners of my mind! Thank you for visiting Metro!
