BACKGROUND:

Born in Savannah GA to a Lakota Indian mother and Irish father Audiomind got his start in classical and native music at a very early age. When he was 5 he began to take piano and drum lessons and continued to do so on and off in school and at home for 9 years. During this time, Audiomind mostly performed within the classical realm. After receiving numerous honors, awards and recognitions for playing and producing music for live acts, etc, Audiomind discovered his true calling in “electronic music”. This new ‘enlightenment’ transpired after Audiomind attended his first large underground music event. Audiomind immediately invested in his first set of turntables (and mixer) and from thereafter incessantly accumulated records, samples and gear for mixing (and remixing), recording and playing throughout the Southeast US. Audiomind’s love has effortlessly grown for the atmosphere, vibe and harmony of the electronic music community, all the while transforming his progression into a professional DJ/Artist only that much more enjoyable and exciting.

After graduation from college, Audiomind moved to back to VA and began mastering his musical engineering prowess and his desire to achieve a name for himself in the underground electronic music community. At this time, Audiomind decided on an artist name for himself, humorously calling himself “OUT OF YA MIND”, which eventually transformed into “AUDIOMIND”. (Reflectively believing that by serious examination of the music, each note seemed to offer a delicate balance of blissful enlightenment with each passing drum roll and synth lead.) After extensive travel throughout the Southeast and Midwest US A Audiomind finally chose to make his home Charlotte NC USA, back in 1999.

Audiomind’s taste in music has varied greatly over the years and with so much affection and devotion to so many different modes of music, Audiomind chose not to limit himself by sticking to a single genre while Djing, Producing and Performing.

Audiomind’s biggest influences throughout the years has to include labels such as Siesta, Moody, Subliminal, Red Melon, TCR, Sunkissed, Defected, Terraform, Primal, OM, Hooj, Renegade Hardware, etc… but he embraces a special fondness for his extremely talented local artists, DJs & musical engineers.

Audiomind’s attitude and thoughts surrounding the electronic music scene (as they surround him) focus on the positive vibe, the dedicated expression of art through music, truth and dance, as well as his desire to bequeath a lasting impression on anyone he encounters. Audiomind’s philosophy also revolves around a respect and love for the many aspects of our community that encircle our individual expressions we create through art and sound.

Audiomind pursues the constant exploration of the subliminal ethereal of sound and the sub-consciousness of self. Aural elements include: abysmal resonance’s, transcendent tones, disembodied melodies, blurred rhythms, peripheral glimpses, bizarre juxtaposition, decayed voices, subterranean murmurings and beautifully, but terrifying, walls of noise. As Audiomind voyages into the depths of electronic mayhem, its supernal beauty and surreal ego-shredding sound encircles him, resulting in the beautiful balance between harsh reality and ethereal fantasy!
