The Battle of the Imports is the original import and sport compact organization and event in the US. Founded in 1990, the Battle of the Imports is recognized the world over, as the pioneer of the Import lifestyle and culture. The Battle of the Imports is credited for successfully leading the way in creating the movement for, what is now, over a $3 billion industry and helping focus the eyes of every original equipment manufacturer, parts and accessories manufacturer and media outlet on to Gen X and Gen Y (and beyond).

The Battle of the Imports is also credited for being the first event organization in the country to bring race and show vehicles from Japan (TRUST Speed King, S-ROC Nissan Skylines; Top Fuel Racing Nissan Fairlady Z, Honda CRX; HKS Nissan Skyline, APEXi Nissan Skyline; Signal Auto Choptop Honda Civics; JUN Hyper Lemon Nissan Skyline, Honda Civic; Bee's Racing Mitsubishi GTO; etc), thus recognizing the importance of JDM influence and popularity.

All in all, over the past 14 years, the Battle of the Imports has helped develop and shape today's import and sport compact drag racing and spokesmodel legends and superstars, and influenced the beginning of other such popular show series as Import Showoff, Hot Import Nights, and NHRA Sport Compact.

The Battle of the Imports series of events are held across the country in most major marketplaces. Each event in its series offers today's enthusiast competitive 1/4-mile drag racing; a car show (67 class awards) for imports, compacts, trucks and SUV's, and MUV's (mini utility vehicles); Db Drag Racing and USACi official points stereo competitions; live stage entertainment featuring local-area talents; model expo and fresh-face search; interactive vendor village. From time to time, certain events will include a 600-ft. slalom challenge and/or a drifting demonstration and exhibition.

Some of the markets events are hosted in are southern and central CA, the Pacific Northwest (OR, WA), the Midwest (IL), the Mid-Atlantic (MD, VA, NJ), and the South (NC, FL).
