The legendary Hollywood band Betty Blowtorch was one of the hardest rockin' all-bitch bands to ever hit a club stage.

They ripped groove out with your boob out rock and roll with firmly placed tongue-in-cheek lyrics abetted by a raucous, over-the-top KISS-style stage show complete with hot babes breathing fire and boys flashing them from the audience and throwing their Jockeys on stage.

They could rock as hard as any dood band and frequently upstaged other acts on the bill. Seeing them live was a life-changing experience.

Tragically, the tale of the Torch ended on December 15, 2001 with the death of singer Bianca Butthole (aka Bianca Halstead) in a high-speed car accident outside of New Orleans. She was the passenger. This on the heels of a band split in which Sharon and Judy left Bianca in the middle of a tour, sneaking off with all the gear and the van. Apparently, this was over a management dispute. Nonetheless, Bianca and Blare carried the Torch on by themselves, recruiting Nashville Pussy roadie Dave Gara on Drums and L7's Jennifer Finch on Guitar before the tragic accident abrupted ended the tour.

Betty's Torch still shines brights as new ears and eyes are hipped to their amazing anthems and their gender-bending twists on the male-dominated hard rock genre. Betty Lives!
