A Brief History Of Jimi Hendrix Groups On The Web

The very first group or mailing list was named Hey-Joe and was started in 1993 by Joel Abbott. http://www.peterabbott.com/ I was asked by some members to post info on Jimi's time in Nashville, so in 1997 I joined the group. In 2000, after a seven year run, Hey-Joe ended. Bentz Kirby, who was one of the members, started Voodoochile on eGroups which was bought by Yahoo and is now also a part of Launch groups. I started this group in 2004 and within one year, this group became the largest Jimi Hendrix group on the internet. We have now reached a membership of over 12,000.
