About this group:

The purpose of this group is to talk about what PETA is doing wrong and why they are harmful rather than beneficial to society. This is NOT a group to brag about how much steak you ate today and it is NOT a group to talk about how animals are worthless. In other words, this group is not a group for those who are close-minded.

Something I wrote awhile ago:

1. There has been animal testing that has benefited humans. The senior vice president of PETA, more specifically, Mary Beth Sweetland, in fact, uses a medication that was developed and proven to work thanks to animal testing.

2. PETA kills animals that are in good condition. I have found proof that an old man who was going to die owned a rabbit which he gave to PETA "knowing" that they would take good care of it. The rabbit was perfectly healthy. However, PETA euthanized it regardless.

3. PETA sent a letter to terrorists asking them to be careful to just bomb men, women, and children, but not donkeys. Cute, huh?

4. Ever seen Penn and Teller's Bullshit episode on PETA? Let me tell you about some of the content in this episode:

a. When PETA members were protesting outside of an animal shelter that euthanized animals, Jackie David, public information director for the city of Los Angeles' animal services department states, "Should we turn [the animals] all out into the street including the aggressive ones? What do we do with them? Then do they go bite everyone, and then it's our fault again?" Gee, she makes a pretty good fucking point. PETA members are against the euthanization that goes on in animal shelters. If animal shelters were to just let animals go, including the aggressive ones, so they could make room for other animals, people would be pretty upset. (But we have to keep in mind that PETA doesn't care about people). Also, many stray cats and dogs just end up in the animal shelters anyway. I do think it's pretty horrible that all of this has to happen, but what the hell are animal shelters supposed to do?

b. In part of the video, there are PETA members being arrested and chained up for harassing other people. Violent much?

c. I love this quote from Penn: "Don't blow the kitchen up because you don't like my lunch."

d. Another amazing quote: "Life isn't Disney bullshit where lions, pigs, and meerkats hang out together and sing songs."

e. Quote from some idiotic supporter of PETA (I forgot his name because it was mentioned at the beginning of the episode and I didn't feel like rewinding it): "You can justify, from a political standpoint, any type of violence you want to use." He also said, "I think violence and non-violence are not moral principals. They're tactics." What's that again? They don't support terrorism and violence?

f. Quote from Jerry Greenwalt, general manager of department of animal services in L.A.: "My house has been vandalized [by PETA members]. My car has been vandalized. My house has been picketed twice. Ugly things [have been] said over loudspeakers in my neighborhood... As a matter of fact, my wife had a heart attack after the first protest."

g. Someone said: "Animal rights extremists [(PETA)] are threatening to kill my children on the way to school because we eat pheasant."

h. In this episode, there is video-taped evidence that Ingrid Newkirk (I assume you know who that is) was connected to Rodney Coronado's lovely little fire-bombing of the Michigan State University research lab. Oh no, PETA doesn't support terrorism. Nope.

i. Rodney Coronado was also teaching kids how to build a firebomb under the offices of PETA. Ingrid has also called Rodney Coronado a
"fine young man."

j. When Penn and Teller asked Rodney if they could interview him, he responded by saying, "I don't want to be put in a position to, uh, be part of something that makes PETA look bad." I wonder why? Because he knows that PETA is bad and what would come out of his mouth if he accepted the offer.

k. A former spokesman of PETA left PETA because he thought they were pretty fucked up.

l. Damn, it's getting late, and there's still a bunch of stuff from this episode that I want to tell you about. I think I will end this part of my amazingly undefeatable response by telling you that the episode has proof that animal testing saved someone's life.

If you don't believe me about this stuff, go find the episode and see for yourself how fucked up PETA really is. Moving on.

5. PETA compares slaughterhouses to the concentration camps from the Holocaust. What the hell? First of all, when animals are killed in slaughterhouses, it is for a good cause: so people can sit down at the dinner table and have a nice, delicious, juicy, tender filet mignon, chicken breast, or pork chop. I regret writing that last sentence. In other words, people get their protein in the most delicious way possible. Now let's look at the Holocaust. What good comes out of genocide? That's the other thing... Butchering animals for meat is not equivalent to ethnic cleansing. Sorry.

6. Maybe saying that PETA lies about meat and milk causing cancer wasn't the correct way to put it. However, I will argue this. If they're going to make such claims, they need to provide the proof to their audience, which they have not done.

7. I find it so amazingly hilarious that PETA doesn't want animals used in entertainment, but they will train cats for pro-neutering/spaying commercials.

8. Animals eat other animals in the wild. I know your initial response will be, "Animals don't have the ability to think about what they're doing when they're killing other animals for food." PETA makes the same argument, and therefore they're admitting that animals and humans are not equal. In that case, they need to stop pretending animals and humans are equal by comparing slaughterhouses to concentration camps and claiming that using animals for food, fur, entertainment, etc. is just as bad as harming humans.

Proof that PETA supported Rodney Coronado's cause:

TWO SIMPLE FORUM RULES (READ THIS BEFORE POSTING):
1. Do NOT tell someone they're stupid just because they are a vegetarian. That's just rude. (I, the group creator and mod, am a pescetarian for health reasons).
2. Don't be stupid. This means don't use, "Oh but the bible says that God gave us animals, blah, blah, blah" as an argument. Yes, it is a matter of opinion, but opinions can be stupid. For example, this is an opinion: "Black people are inferior" and it is also a stupid opinion.
