The mission of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is to inspire wonder, discovery and responsibility for our natural and cultural worlds.

First Fridays is a dynamic series held on the first Friday of each month. The series is designed to bring the Museum's exhibitions to life through various means of expression, ranging from the performing arts to interesting, informed discussion. Providing an exciting Friday night destination, each evening features a combination of accomplished artists or scholars, whose performances and insights offer fresh perspectives on exhibit themes.

First Fridays events offer the opportunity to explore the Museum's major temporary exhibitions and a sampling of the permanent galleries. Concessions by Wolfgang Puck Catering & Events provide a delicious complement to the evenings.
