CLEVELAND, OH – Undercurrents, the Cleveland based music conference and showcase company, will present a series of music business educational forums. There is no charge for forums.



Cleveland - The Cuyahoga Community College – Eastern Campus located at 4250 Richmond Road in Beachwood, Ohio is host of the Cleveland forums which will be presented by Derek Poindexter, the Cleveland Regional Director for Undercurrents.



Akron - The Lime Spider located at 207 South Main Street is the host for the Akron forums which will be presented by Jakob Ward, the Akron / Canton / Kent Regional Director for Undercurrents.



The forums will also feature networking opportunities, music demo listening and information about future forums and showcases planned for the Cleveland region. These forums are free and open to the public.



Musicians are encouraged to bring their latest demo, business cards and a attitude to learn about succeeding in the music industry. The forum will begin with a short demo listening session followed by networking opportunities and information about succeeding in the music business. In addition, musicians will gain knowledge about future regional and national showcase opportunities, gig swaps and other music services available through the Undercurrents.



Future monthly forums will include panelists with expertise in topics such as: how to get a record deal, music marketing, radio airplay, recording, contracts, publishing, merchandising and more. Each forum will be scheduled on the second Tuesday of the month. Presentation locations may vary. Undercurrents is holding concurrent forums in a multitude of North American cities. In addition, future plans for Undercurrents include offering these educational forums for college credit, online feedback via web cams and group discussions, as well as capturing content for Internet archive retrieval.
