Showing that people care. Tsunami victim support/Music For Relief. http://www.musicforrelief.org/
225,000 people dead. On December 26, 2004 a magnitude-9 earthquake shook the ocean floor and caused a massive tsunami. The waves crashed into Indonesia and destroyed everything in its path. A huge number of missing persons are now on the death toll. Wives, Husbands, Mothers, Fathers, Sons, Daughters, Uncles, Aunts, Grandparents, and cousins are all suffering the loss of loved ones. Buildings, businesses, and homes have all been swept away with the tide.
People and countries all over the world are sending food and money; countless musicians have been supporting programs to help raise money, putting on concerts where all the money goes to the Red Cross, but so far, it hasn’t been enough.
So yeah, your probably sitting there thinking, “What does this have to do with me?” well, unless you’re a self-centered, selfish jackass that doesn’t care, then you can help. Sure, we probably don’t know these people, nor ever meet them. But they are human beings, and they need help. So are you just going to sit there on your ass and not let this get to you, or are you going to try and do something about it?
If your like me, and actually care, then you’ll do something to help! It’s really not that hard, I’m starting a fundraising program at my school to help, and all the money will go to the Red Cross. And some junior high kids have started their own program, where they go out and sell baked goods. And lest we forget the foundation that Linkin Park started with the Red Cross (Music For Relief, http://www.musicforrelief.org/) where LP, 311, Yellowcard, Trapt, The Used, The Starting line, Taking Back Sunday, Story Of The Year, Static-X, Staind, Sevendust, Puddle Of Mudd, Otep, Korn, Incubus, Hoobastank, From Autumn To Ashes, Filter, My Chemical Romance, Coheed And Cambria, Senses Fail, The Banner, Like Yesterday, Midtown, The Early November, Underoath, and The Youth Ahead, just to name a few, preformed shows to help raise money.
Now, if your suffering from laziness, and don’t really feel like getting up and doing something, then donate money or the Red Cross, or at least help spread the word. It’s really not that hard, and these people need help. So what are you waiting for?
