A very exclusive members only social club established on January 13, 1881. It consists of a number of highly intelligent, creative, and influential individuals. This invitation only group of "good livers" has included three American Presidents, many mayors, congressmen, lawyers, judges, artists, writers, actors, musicians, great thinkers, and many more. Started over a 125 years ago to challenge the number 1 superstition at that time, the belief that if you had thirteen people at a dinner table, one would die within a year and the overall belief that 13 was an unllucky number, Captain William Fowler invited acquaintances to join him on the 13th of each month to sit 13 at a table for dinner. Their dinners not only took on the unlucky 13 superstition but also grappled all superstitions such as walking under a ladder, spilled salt, black cats, and more. Nevertheless, these gatherings continued month after month with attendance growing in number, bringing together many great minds for nothing more than great conversation, fun interaction, and of course great eats. Their logo included the saying " Morituri Te Salutamus " which translates to "We who are about to die salute you." This club was meant to bring together a mix of talented individuals for a great time and I hope to continue the tradition in honor of Captain Fowler.
