A place for all of the good ol' rockers of Scouse-land to get together!

Recommended Local Venues
Bar Cava, 4a Wood Street, Liverpool. - Also known as 'The Tequila Bar' around Liverpool, this extremely popular pub offers pretty cheap drinks and a very friendly atmosphere. Wednesday's are 'Mix-O-Macoustic' nights, featuring many live acoustic acts. Other live music as advertised.

D'jango's Riff (just call it 'Beluga' - trust me) - More or less next door to The K for all you drunks who like to stagger into there after getting wankered somewhere else. Beluga is a very friendly staffed venue, which plays the oddly titled 'Brazillica' music mixes (trust me they're worth a listen!) It is a little dark and seedy, but then again if you like the Krazyhouse you're sure to like this!

The Swan - Wood Street, Liverpool - If a little small, this three-floored pup offers a very promising juke box full of classic rock tracks. The bar prices are reasonable, and there are quiz nights as advertised. It gets very busy Friday/Saturday, so be there early if you want a seat!

The Krazyhouse - 16 Wood Street, Liverpool - Once upon a time there was competition from Subculture, Toxic City, Sabotage and countless other failed rock nights, but lets face it there is no other option for a widely music ranged night out in Liverpool. Almost every genre of music is covered over the three most popular nights (Thursday-Saturday), so visit their site and decide for yourself whats best! Has arcade games, pool tables, a video room and three huge floors of mayhem.

Recommended Local Bands (alphabetical order)
(are you in a band? want to be advertised here? get in touch with me and send a short profile describing the band and the genre of music you play. all welcome!)

The Albany - A four piece Indie rock band largely influenced by such bands as The LA's and the Rolling Stones. Very chilled out and definetly worth a look.

Anti-Chamber - Aside from being one of the nicest bands member-wise that I've had the pleasure of playing alongside during my band life, this is the kind of band that throws out 'hit you in the face' type of music, and before you know it they have smashed out a whole set of quality songs before you know whats hit you...they have it all-stage presence, catchy songs, a charismatic singer...highly recommended. for fans of nu and thrash metal.

Attack Toys - Whilst I've not managed to get to see this bands live show as of yet, the material I have heared is enough to float my boat. This four-peice take industrial rock to its mellowest, and chances are you've seen some of their arty advertisements around some of the pubs/clubs in liverpool. Go and see this band!

Buzz Radio "Buzz Radio was formed in August 2007 as a four piece Liverpool outfit from previous Liverpool bands. The band played its first gig on November 23rd 2007 at The Zanzibar in the Liverpool City Centre. The band is now a five-piece, and we are currently rehearsing; recording; and will be gigging in the near future. Their songs deal with different everyday issues such as: politics; life relationships; friends; heartache; and whats going on in the world today!" (as taken from their Myspace, additional info there!)

The Dry Retch "There needs to be a sewer fuelled injection of primal, excremental rock and roll that's coming off the line when the lights turn green. Dammit, the Retch can blow em out the water like you never seen" (as taken from their myspace) - kinda sounds like 80's matchbox all grunged up!

Kinsheeva Formed in December 2005, Kinsheeva is a two piece Liverpool Band based in Toxteth. All music is written, arranged, recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Kinsheeva.

The Most Terrifying Thing " 'The scouse noise niks reminiscent of The Queens of a stone age on a bad trip'. Join Liverpools very own kings of easy listening rock music on one of their many dates currently planned and from the sounds on their myspace you won't be disappointed - go listen! Kerrang described their CD as: An engrossing debut from epic hearted British Rockers. The Most Terrifying Thing are a richly rewarding find. For fans of Nirvana and Oceansize. "

Neural Sonic Combustion (as taken from their myspace) "In mid-2006 friends & guitarists Iain & Josh decided to get together and work on some riffs with the intent of uniting our different ideas about heavy music under one banner to create something unique, catchy, but above all; brutal."

Ogun - Ogun have been called a lot of things during their time in the Liverpool metal scene...personally the one thing I'd call them is THE metal band of Liverpool. After a sad departure of the original line up in 2005, Singer/lead guitarist Paul and guitarist Andy are back with a new line up and seem ready to pick up where they left off. If you havnt seen them yet, you don't know what you're missing.

Ornament - Hailing from Liverpool, Ornament provide loud music ideal for listening to. From family favourites such as "Snowblind" and "N.I.B" by Black Sabbath. (taken from the ornament myspace)

Osiris - Described as "having a sound that is brutal and ear crushing", Osiris recently ended their search for a bass player and are now a complete unit. Check out their myspace for a full list of live dates.

Sadistic Undertorture exploded onto the Liverpool metal scene late April 2006 after months of being 'in the closet' and waiting for the band to be complete. The currently five piece 'experimental metal monstosity' are currently in the process of adding to their already strong setlist; look out for them at the Metalfest. Recently aquired new drummer and have once again begun gigging!

ShulkSkull - slow creepy ambiant black metal heavilly influenced by USBM bands like xasthur, leviathen, khrom etc, featuring mostly melodic vocals.

Soviet Underdog - Alternative grunge rock band that create neck breakingly thunderous tunes which have caused a stir in their hometown of Liverpool and beyond. Also, visit their website

The Tangent Twins - A currently two peice alternative/indie band from the Liverpool/Wirral area. Tracks now available for listening on their myspace!

Torture Garden -Currently two peice experimental doom/death metal, with the promise of more members to come in the near future. Demo 'Rotisserie Of Pain' available for download on the myspace now!

UncleGhost - Monstrous blackend grind in the vein of anaal nathrakh. currently writing the debut album, monster island and the satan of fire.

Zuprowski Connection - "They rock, they groove, theyre melodic. Theyre a band that have been touching the hearts of Liverpools metal fanatics for some time" (as taken from their interview with Citywise Magazine). This five peice melodic metal band can currently be found doing Liverpool gigs and are currently trying to spread their wings - watch out for them!
