Donate Life/Done Vida is to promote awareness for organ/tissue donation. There is a vast need for organ/tissue donation. The numbers on transplant waiting lists are ever-growing, yet the actual amount of donations is never enough to meet the need.

Kidney and Liver living donation is becoming more and more frequent and is also an available option; either as living related, living nonrelated, or living altruistic. Organ recipients do astonishingly better with a living donation in comparison to cadaveric donation, statistically speaking.

I work in Transplant Surgery at University of Washington Medical Center. If anyone wants information about anything related to liver/kidney/pancreas transplant (or any other types of transplant or transplant related things), diabetes, dialysis, or whatever, I will gladly answer your questions, and if I don't know, I will find the answer or get the information for you.

At UWMC, we have a group (Team Transplant) that participates in the Seattle Marathon each year in November. If you're interested in being part of it, let me know.
