What We Stand For:

Founded in 1904, the World Socialist Movement is unique in maintaining the original socialist principles of Marx:

* The emancipation of the working class is made by workers themselves. Great leaders are not needed.
* Socialism means the end of the market system not the nationalization of capitalism.
* Capitalism cannot be reformed in the workers' interests.

The World Socialist Movement (or WSM) consists of working class people who have organized themselves democratically with one objective; to bring about a complete change in world society.

The WSM is a global socialist movement that believes capitalism cannot meet the needs of the majority of us, the workers, no matter how progressive it might become in the future.

To meet these needs capitalism must be replaced by socialism.
