The National Comedy Theatre is San Diego's premiere spot for improvisational comedy. Every Friday and Saturday night the players use audience suggestions to make up sketches, songs, and jokes on the spot. No two shows are ever the same.

In addition, The National Comedy Theatre offers special shows periodically including uncensored midnight shows, original sketch comedy shows, holiday themed events, and shows featuring visiting comedy troupes. Also, NCT has been known to send it's members out overseas to entertain US troops in Iraq, Egypt, Germany, and Spain.

Now in its 6th year of operation, the National Comedy Theatre has recieved critical praise from the Reader, San Diego City Beat, and was recently voted ..3 in Live Theatre by the readers of San Diego's Union Tribune, Falling behind only the Old Globe and Diversionary Theatre.

In February 2005, National Comedy Theatre opened a second theatre in New York City. They have been in buisness now for over a year.
