Dismembered August was formed in late 2004, rising from the ashes of old bands; Interfectum and Septic Twist. Jamie Abela and Phil Wayer- at the time both aged 14- then began writing for the first EP/demo, rehearsing each week. Soon after, around a dozen songs were complete, and it was now time to bring a singer into the band. Friend and ex-band member Greg Brown was asked to take the job of vocalist. The band then began to take shape, and were able to finally see what the songs were going to sound like when finished. The band was still without a bassist, so Gareth Roberts was asked to take the role.

So now that the band was complete and around 7 songs were finished, it was time to head into the studio and lay down a demo. The band decided to record a 3 track CD, which was to be given to venues, companies, and generally all those who wanted listen or those we wanted to hear it. The sound of the band is heavily influenced by bands such as Dark Tranquillity, and The Black Dahlia Murder, as well as other bands including The Haunted and Arch Enemy.
