SEV-ER-ITIS- an acute obsessive state of mind in which highly unusual, discriminating females are inexplicably enchanted, seduced and irresistibly drawn like a moth to the flame by the potions master of severity, Severus Snape. The sight of his “black eyes like dark tunnels”, raven lank hair and billowing obsidian robes ensnare the senses, including symptoms of euphoria, heart palpitations, and sometimes fainting. One auditory sense in particular known as the “silky voice” tends to mesmerize females, bewitching their minds and lulling them into putty - with tingling effect, spreads throughout various body parts. Like the source itself, the condition is severe, passionate, and all consuming, rendering the willing victim with an intense desire and craving for late night detentions with “The Master’s” presence, combined with an eager hope for his correction. While the condition itself is not considered contagious, his legion of devotees afflicted with the condition are spreading like wildfire, accompanied by a characteristic of fierce, intense loyalty.
