The Horror Writers Group is the largest group devoted to horror writing on myspace.

Writers from all walks of life and backgrounds are welcomed here; both published, unpublished, and self-published. Membership and participation on this board will never be denied based on age, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, or political views. Everyone, EVERYONE, interested in horror writing are welcome to join and take part in this group.

If you're new to the group and want to introduce yourself before jumping in, we have a thread for that, here. (Or, if the link doesn't work for you, view all topics and find it among those pinned at the top. Introductions are not required.)

The board rules:

1. NO SPAM

Published authors and other professionals in the industry looking to update us on book releases, open calls for submissions, and/or other services or events related to publishing are asked to, please, limit all post of a promotional nature to the group's bulletin section. Not doing so may result in the deletion of your post.

All other types of promotions will be deleted regardless of where on the board they appear.

Thread "bumping" is likewise considered spamming. Forum topics are like all things; they are born, they live their lives (some short, some long), and then they die. If you find something among the groups dead topics you'd like to add something to, fine, please do so, but please do not post a reply to your own topics just to get them back to the top of the board. Doing so may result in your newly undead topic being staked and deleted from the board and you being removed from our membership list.

2. PROTECT YOUR RIGHTS

All members are welcomed to share and post their work anytime and in anyway they see fit. However, please, be aware of the prior publication police of the markets you are planning to submit said work to before posting. Group leader is not responsible for loss of first print rights on anything you choose to post.

Anyone found to be plagiarizing the works of others will be banned, publicly outed, and turned into Myspace for copyright infringement.

3. KEEP ON TOPIC

This group is for aspiring and seasoned writers to talk about, debate, and learn about the craft of writing and publishing. It is not a book club or a general horror discussion board. All topics related to horror movies, music, or other items that do not inspire or encourage conversation about the art of writing and publishing will be removed.

4. USE PROPER ENGLISH

This is a board for writers; write like writers. Text speak and other forms of slopping writing that pass for communication elsewhere on the web won’t fly here. Use your shift key, use proper punctuation, to the best of your abilities apply all the rules of grammar, and for the love of all things undead and unholy type out your words.

5. HAVE FUN

This board is meant to serve as a resource for writers who are serious about their craft, but that doesn't mean it all has to be buttoned down and business like. There are enough jobs and careers that aren't any fun and so there's no need to try and make writing another.
