THE GUITAR GODZ MEMORIAL GROUP IS IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM ASSOCIATED WITH ANY OF THE BANDS POSTED...ALL VIDEOS ARE PROPERTY OF THEIR RESPECTED OWNERS - RECORDING, GUITAR, AMPLIFICATION COMPANIES AND BANDS...Considered by many to be the best metal guitarist of all time, DIMEBAG DARRELL is without any doubt the most influential guitarist of the 90's and beyond. DIME has been compared to such legends as EDDIE VAN HALEN, RANDY RHOADS, JIMI HENDRIX, STEVIE RAY VAUGHN, BILLY GIBBONS, ANGUS YOUNG, TONY IOMMI, GLEN TIPTON, K.K. DOWNING, & ACE FREHLEY. Mentioned among such a skilled and innovative list of players like that is quite an accomplishment in it's own right.

Not only do most people agree that he is perhaps the best metal guitarist ever, most people agree that he may very well the most influential guitarist to come along since EDDIE VAN HALEN. Dropped D tuning, whammy bar antics, energetic blues playing all mixed into one of the most powerful guitar tones ever heard... DIME was doing this long before it became popular. His style has perservered through hair metal, grunge, alternative, rapcore... no other guitarist has been this captivating or has lasted through such diverse musical trends. The American vocalist/guitarist Chuck Schuldiner is generally regarded one of the founders of the death metal genre, which -of course- was named after his brainchild Death. Even though, in the early 80's, the young guitarist from Orlando took the microphone out of pure necessity, soon after, a lot of new bands started imitating Chuck's deep growling 'grunt', having heard albums like 'Scream Bloody Gore', 'Leprosy' and 'Spiritual Healing'. Yet the guitarist always kept mixed emotions towards his reputation as a death-metal-godfather and prototype 'grunt' vocalist.

After all, Schuldiner grew up with more melodic bands such as Maiden and Priest. Influences he would, on later albums, expose more and more. With the arrival and departure of renowned musicians such as Gene Hoglan, Steve DiGiorgio, Sean Reinert, Andy LaRocque and Paul Masvidal, Death became more and more synonymous with high-grade, technical, extraordinary, anti-commercial metal. Music that a lot of people have since called 'Schuldiner Metal'. And in closing for those of you who would like to add Chuck Schuldiner Tribute as friend just click the image below to add. Born Randall William Rhoads on December 6, 1956 at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica CA, Randy Rhoads lead a life that centered around music until his untimely death on March 19, 1982. While his impact on the guitar world may never be fully understood, his contributions can be found in the work of many rock and roll and classical guitarists who list Rhoads as a major impact influence.

Randy received his first guitar at age six and a half. It was an old Gibson classical acoustic "Army-Navy" guitar that had belonged to his grandfather. Randy said later, "I just started trying to figure out different things on my own, so by the time I started taking lessons I had a pretty good idea of what to do." He began taking lessons with his sister Kathy at his side. To compliment his guitar lessons his mother gave Randy piano lessons to sharpen his sight reading skills and build his understanding of music theory.

In the beginning he studied folk and classical music. But Randy had little patience with his lessons, probably because of his insatiable desire to explore new ideas and expand his knowledge rather than sticking to the basics. "I did not want to be bothered with technique and learning scales," Randy said, but it is apparent in his later work that he learned these skills, embraced them and took them to their highest level by combining them in ways that had never been done in rock music before.

Burton was born in Castro Valley, California. He started playing the piano at age six. In 1976, when he was 14, Cliff started taking bass guitar lessons from a local music teacher. According to his parents, Cliff would spend four to six hours a day perfecting his bass guitar skills (even after he joined Metallica).

Upon graduating from Castro Valley High School in 1980, he took up a music course at Napa Valley Junior College in northern California. One of his fellow schoolmates there was "Big" Jim Martin, former guitarist of Faith No More.

Clifford Lee Burton (February 10, 1962 – September 27, 1986) was a bass guitarist, best known for his work with the thrash metal band Metallica from 1982-86. He was killed in a bus accident in Sweden, 1986 while touring with Metallica. His life and death have inspired many songs from bands including Megadeth ("In My Darkest Hour") and Primus, as well as bassists such as Billy Sheehan, Les Claypool and John Myung.

His playing style was unusually varied for a heavy metal bassist. From the rapid-fire riffs from songs like "Battery", "Damage, Inc." or "The Four Horsemen" to more melodic playing in "Orion", and solos like "(Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth." Burton never played with a guitar pick, unlike his successor to Metallica, Jason Newsted; he always used his fingers. During his solos, he often played on two or sometimes even three strings at once.
