shellshock was formed by 4 people wanting to push the boundaries of digital metal, mixing the dark twisted elements of drum n bass with the heavy, edgy metal style they had in their blood.

Live shows soon followed around the hometown Watford @ NAM, shows with SikTh, PDHM and CryforSilence helped to concrete the bands local following(thanks to Mikee @ NAM), As well as numerous other shows in the South East.. As the excitement around the band was building they were invited to do the first of many interviews for TotalRock in cluding the 'Nu world order' show with Malcom Dome and Andy King.. The show caused a huge response and Totalrock made shellshock band of the month in Rocksound magazine..

The following months were taking shellshock into London..playing frenzied shows at the Highbury Garage, Camden Monarch (kby), The Underworld and Feet First at the Camden Palace. As well as 2 years on the bill at the prestigious underground metal festival 'Uxfest ', sharing a stage with Raging Speedhorn, Lost Prophets, Vacant Stare, Miocene and loads more..

The Bands track 'Insight' ' featured on the covermount CD of Metal Hammer and Terrorizer Magazines.. which expanded their fanbase nationwide.

A uk tour with skindred followed as well as an invitation to support 'The Shizit' on the UK Dates of their European tour..

Sept 2004 saw shellshock bringing the famous 'in the city' industry showcase to an earth shattering end.. playing celler vie, Manchester on the final night..

Weeks later Rafe Chiles, Guitarist and founding member of shellshock, died suddenley and tradgically from an asthma attack while on a trip to Paris.. "Everyone who knew Rafe was completley devastated by the loss of such a talented young individual, he will be missed forever. Words cant describe the loss of a such a true friend and bandmate, Yet Rafe lives on in the music we made together and will continue to make with his influence.. the support and show of loyalty we've received from our fans since the passing of Rafe has been truly immense.. thank you so much" - shellshock.
