Personally, I'm fed up with the statistics of animals that die each year because irresponsible pet owners don't get their animals spayed/neutered.

There are low-cost programs all over the nation that charge a mere $30 for getting a female cat spayed. And if you can't afford that then why the f* do you even have a cat?

And if you honestly can't afford the operation (if there ARE no low-cost programs in your area), think about adopting a pet from the shelter. shelter pets are usually fixed before being adopted out (or, as sharpie pointed out, some shelters offer free/discount vouchers for spaying & neutering!). (Not to mention the fact that they will probably already have vaccinations taken care of for you & that the animal will probably be euthanized if someone doesn't adopt it within a few weeks).
