The criteria for joining this group will not be based upon aesthetic or subject matter nor any closed-minded BS. To make this work, I think it is best to assemble a group of working professionals who respect their craft to a degree that is is created with a professional level of workmanship, craftsmanship, materials, and skill.



I would love to collect more work by other talents from far and wide and I frequently promote the works in my collection (and their creators) more than my own creations when entertaining guests. I am a fan of many of the artists we have in this group and would love to support their work if not collect some as well.


I am sure too much structure is not necessary. In fact, I deny more requests for membership than I accept in an effort to maintain a certail level of professionalism in here. I believe the Group Photos Gallery can certainly be used to showcase work that is available for trade. As far as the argument of originals vs. published work. Who cares? We can trade giclees (a bad word in some circles), screens, prints of other types or hand-created originals, just the same. Some of us have more commercial offerings and have, as we say in the industry, gone mug (meaning images of our artwork has been published on mugs, tee shirts, mousepads, etc). I would say these articles are also perfectly acceptable trade pieces too. We would just have to remember that equal barter is the goal.
Oh, I also think services are fair game too. For instance, I can offer dirt cheap digital printing for portfolios, comp cards, business cards, post cards to giclees and other, higher-end printing for art reproduction, all dirt cheap.
