The start of isssue one
"Along time ago, when I was about 5 or 6 years old, two nations waged war upon one another. They swore to bring down one anothers civilisations, tear apart one anothers religions and beliefs, to rise above one another and claim this world as their own.
They sent spies to each others lands, infiltrated each others governments, and stole each others plans. Both sides became so consumed with one anothers demise that they did not question the similarities of their strategies, with the goal so close, they did not ponder over the parallels between one anothers doomsday devices.
Each nation constructed one side of a cylindrical device, Contained within each - one side of a sphere, forged from an array on unknown properties.
Both nations marvelled over their accomplishments, each holding a part of a two-piece puzzle. A device that held the ability to redesign the universe.
Even the launch window was the same, the same moment of truth, when the identical cannons, rose to the same degree, the same trajectory, the same moment when the seamless metal monoliths that housed the device itself would ascend into the heavens, and rain down death on one anothers nations.
And both nations crumbled, but they did not create a bomb.."
