Group Leader:

"Democracy alone, of all forms of government, enlists the full force of men's enlightened will. We would rather die on our feet than live on our knees."

- President Franklin D. Roosevelt

Rock the Troops is for our troops and everyone who is genuinely grateful for their courage, integrity, and character to fight for something greater than themselves, to do a job that most Americans would not.

This group is even for the people who speak so vehemently against them because I believe that everyone's voice should be heard. I have seen countless groups on Myspace, and content in many other media outlets, outspokenly condemning the U.S. Armed Forces and Government workers. And some have even deleted my responses and kept only the ones who support their opinions.

Here's what I have to say to them, the next time they see a soldier in uniform, remember that he or she has what it takes to fight for our way of life and that even includes their freedom to dishonor the soldiers who fight to protect that right.

We all owe the Troops our unwaivering gratitude, however few of them would require it to continue doing their job. After all, it is the soldiers, past and present, who have earned for us our freedoms and liberties with their lives... not those who speak against them. It is those people who benefit, as we all do, but without ever having known what it is to serve and without the slightest understanding of what honor, courage, and commitment mean.

I'm a former U.S. Marine Sergeant and I started this group with my friend and Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran, Scott, and we fought for you, even those of you who disrespect us with your flagrant degradation. And we would gladly do it again, even if it meant our lives. That is the true heart of a servant and the calibur of a soldier.

If you are thankful to our troops, as we are, and want to let them know that their sacrafice is meaningful to you, let them know here...
