I, like many people, would love to shoot photos for National Geographic Magazine... I thought this would be an interesting forum for us to showcase our photographic talent by trying to take photos to fit a theme...an assigment, if you will.
I was thinking that every month, we could have a photography assignment...and everyone in the group could go out and see if they can take a photo for the assignment...or a few photos for the assignment. There really is no limit, its all in fun.

I'll give you the assignment...you come up with the photo.

(of course you can submit a photo that you have taken in the past, but I think its more fun if we all go out and take fresh pictures just for the group. Anyone can look thru an archive of photos that they have taken, but can you go out with a camera and snap photos with a certain subject or theme in mind?)

The themes are going to vary greatly, like the themes in the magazine...Nature, culture, society, etc... If you have any suggestions for a photographic assignment, send me an email. I will keep them general enough so everyone can participate (dont worry...world travel won't be necessary, but will, of course, be encouraged)

I think the best way to share your photos is to start a new topic for each photo or group of photos. This makes it easier to see new photos, and easy for us all to make comments about specific pics. (easier than wading thru pages and pages of replys)

NEW ASSIGNMENT!!!!

APRIL 2007: I had a suggestion to have a topic "Signs". This can mean whatever you want it to mean...street signs, signs of life, signs of spring..you get the picture (so start taking some!)
I want to be able to go out and shoot some new pics with a goal in mind....so, everyone, get out there and let's see your SIGNS!
