Tara, the seat of kings and perhaps high-kings, one of the world's most valuable heritage sites, is under threat. It is proposed to build a motorway within 0.5 km of the hill itself, bisecting the Tara-Skryne Valley. This will destroy many of the as-yet undiscovered archaeological treasures which are known to be within this area. Heritage legislation dating from 70 years ago has been scrapped to facilitate this. Under new legislation, the Minister gives himself the power to demolish any or all historical sites on a whim. This is being undertaken to bankroll rich US and UK construction companies. No other plan or route has even been considered. We are not campaigning against 'progress', but for sanity, and against cultural warfare. If this were undertaken by an invader (Ireland's language, culture, laws and population were almost detroyed by the invader) it would be deemed a crime. This group is open for anyone who wishes to help save this sacred place, or wishes to keep updated, or help others keep updated.
