Ok, so here are the rules: Each week I post a new photography assignment and you have all week to post your photos and receive critisism from other artists. You may submit as many photos as you like, but please don't post 10 pictures that are all of the same thing, just different angles or so slightly different than you can hardly tell them apart. And just so everyone knows, since people ask this often, you may post pictures you already have from the past or you may challenge yourself to take the picture that week that it is assigned. That part is up to you. Then, at the end of the week I will choose a winner and post their photo in the group photos. Amateurs and professionals welcome!
Each week, on Wednesday, I will post a new assignment for the following week. It could be an assignment to see examples of various techniques, (such as creative lighting, DOF, and contrast) or just different things to take pictures of (i.e. cars, different shapes, trees, etc)
I will try to choose a wide variety of assignments so that everyone will have a chance to showcase their creativity for all to see. You may also just come to critique others' work (but please be constructive, not harsh or you might not be welcome here anymore) Then, on Wednesday, I will pick a winner and that person's photo will be placed in the group's portfolio. (so please don't post or ask for your pictures to be posted in the group's photos--it's for the winners only) Then if you want to look back and see who won for previous weeks you can check them out as well!
I hope that you will participate and come back each week for your assignment, or just to critique other photographers.
Have fun!!!
Assignment 1 for the week of 3/31-4/04: For our first assignment since the long break we've had, I would like to begin with Portraits, as portraiture is my favorite kind of photography to do. :) (Man it's good to be the group leader) Lol. Jk. The assignment is pretty open as far as what kind of portraits they may be. I will be judging on a variety of techniques, such as composition, lighting/shadows, placement of model, etc. It may be one person or a group of people, but no animals, please. (We'll do animals another time) I'm excited to see what everyone posts, as it's been SOOO long! Good luck!
