The focus of this group is to establish a forum for those who feel Cannabis Sativa (marijuana, hemp, weed, pot, etc….) should be decriminalized, regulated and taxed. Although, DRT advocates personal liberties and the right to privacy for the personal and medicinal uses of marijuana, the economic benefits to the end of prohibition far outweigh the current rational that keeps this useful plant out of the hands of the masses. Man has had a cooperative relationship with Hemp for over a thousand years, prospering from its many uses. It has come in only the last 70 or so years since this benevolent plant has been the target of a doomed war and the stigmatization from the bulk of society.

Unfortunately, there is still much opposition to the decriminalization of marijuana, mostly from the religious right, political blowhards, law enforcement (who profit from incarcerating and building jails) and big business pharmacical giants and alcohol lobbies. This is a great obstacle to overcome but through grassroots activism and more importantly word of mouth, it is an obstacle that can be defeated.

The agenda DRT is clear: to gather support for the decriminalization of cannabis sativa, to spread the word and educate the masses of the commercial, agricultural, medicinal, nutritional wonders found in this so-called “weed”. This is more than a call out to the “stoners” of the nation in a fight for our right to party. This is a legitimate response to a ludicrous policy that causes massive harm and enormous hidden costs to society. We need your voice and support to make this happen.
