1-4-1 exists to bring aid to the disenfranchised and homeless young people of Portland, Oregon, by building long-term relationships, and help provide physical and emotional needs. Portland has the highest numbers of homeless youth per capita in the United States.

One of the things we have been doing is hanging out downtown (Pioneer Courthouse Square) every Monday and Thursday night to visit our friends downtown. We bring new socks, hoodies, pastries and sandwiches to share with our friends.

One of our major goals is to develop a seven-day-a-week drop-in center where our friends can come and receive the best care they can possibly get. Our wish is to develop relationships with local doctors, dentists, opticians, lawyers, clothing distributors, etc. so not only will we be able to provide brief help for our friends, we will be able to see all of their needs through to fruition.
