VENICE BEACH SKETCHES explores the decline of the American male as a heroic figure as a result of the gender wars in contemporary California.



THE BASEBALL MAN, remarkably popular among college males because of the MACHO rhetoric of the lead protagonist, KEN, and surprisingly popular among college coeds for its insights into the male mentality. KEN, a hot shot Beverly Hills attorney decides to marry THE hot beauty pageant winner. However she has decided to move in with her female lover. The sketch is highlighted by a monologue which ranges from Louise Brooks to D.H. Lawrence to Baseball to the Military to Sean Connery to why OJ killed Nicole. as the attorney tries to make sense of modern gender relationships. Inspired by Jean Paul Sartre's French classic, NO EXIT,...... HELL IS OTHER PEOPLE.



VENICE REMATCH, a variant on Noel Coward's BRIEF ENCOUNTER, has a cult following among professional women, who can not figure out why their male love interests do not measure up.A rapidly failing screenwriter accidentally meets his highly successful ex wife just as he is about to marry Ms. Buttermilk Aerobics. Old hopes, pains, passions and disappointments reappear to cry havoc again.


.VENICE FIRST LOVE,a variant on Turgenev's short story. A shy college student stalks the dazzling coed of his dreams only to discover, to his dismay, that he is not that great a stalker after all. High school students have made this one a favorite for its surprising turn of events. VENICE RAP OPERA for WOMEN, is about an aspiring actress about to audition for a role involving rap. Her rehearsal triggers an outpouring of raps from all strata of women, exposing their fears, passions and rages.



THE DATE, is about a gentle, shy, socially deprived Italian American accountant who seeks true love on a date sponsored by a TV Dating program. He meets a very contemporary California girl, and her very MACHO lover. He loses girl but all is not lost, he is after all an Italian American accountant, who lives at home with his mother and thus has secret powers.
