streetTeamer.com is for: BANDS- to connect with street team members that will help them promote their music and their shows in music scenes all over the country; MUSIC LOVERS- to spread the word about bands that they enjoy, and get paid for doing it.
I’ve been in a touring band now for a few years, and one thing I’ve learned it is that music fans do not magically appear at venues eagerly awaiting the band to hit the stage. For a show to be successful there is a lot of work to be done. Hand outs, posters, word of mouth, radio, press, and internet are the main marketing tools that are needed for a show to have any kind of a good turn out. You simply can’t rely on people showing up at a venue just to check out the music anymore, not even distinguished venues that are known for always having good music.
Although radio and press is extremely hard to come by, all the other things necessary for a great show is readily available and very cost effective. Good thing there’s are a lot music fans out there that are willing to help by doing these tedious tasks. streetTeamer.com exists to connect bands to the those fans that want to help promote their music and their upcoming shows. We do so in a non-biased approach. Many similar sites offer up information on only a select few bands. streetTeamer.com is open to any band that takes a minute sign up for our free membership.
What makes our site really different, though, is that streetTeamers will get paid for the work that they have done. The traditional street team system that many bands use today is often very discouraging to the street team members. They spend hour upon hour and usually their own money promoting bands to get nothing in return, except for occasionally getting their name on the guest list. We are not knocking traditional street team organizations, nor do we mean to replace them. We are just an alternative to the music lovers that want a little something to show for their time and effort. We are also an alternative for bands that need reliable people to help shed some light on their band to a seemingly unreachable demographic.
How it works is bands sign up for the free service, and they are able to search for street teamers in the areas where they are needed, weather it be in their home town or half-way across the country. They will then send a request to any street teamers that they are interested in working with. If the street teamer accepts, the band then pays for services that will be done, like hanging up posters, passing out flyers, chat room promotion, etc. The bands are kept happy because they are only paying for what they are getting. There's never a monthly fee or any hidden charges. Plus, they are now able to have a promotion team at a very good value, which was once before almost impossible . Once the terms of the contract have been meet, that's it. There are no further obligations unless a new contract has been made. The bands will also be able to rate streetTeamers on how well they promoted the band or one of their shows. So if you are a music lover and are wanting to make some extra money this might be the thing for you. streetTeamer.com is not fully functional yet, but as soon as it is we will be letting all of our friends know.
We will also be giving out prizes for high ratings and random drawings. Prizes will range from keychains and T-shirts to Ipods and PSP gaming systems.
