Dreaming Ant rents DVDs. We also sell them, but that’s another story. Hopefully, we have a few that you won’t find at the chains. That’s our goal: offer our fellow Pittsburghers an unrivaled selection of international, gay & lesbian, American independent, music, and documentary movies as well as popular Hollywood and television titles. We try not to be exclusive; however, our limited space precludes us from offering all of the Hollywood titles one might find elsewhere. Even so, with more than 5,000 titles and 40-75 new movies added every week, you should always be able to find something good to rent.

Our humble digs can be found in the auspicious rear of Bloomfield’s Crazy Mocha Coffee Company. As Pitt grad student John T. says, “The best thing about Dreaming Ant is the ‘coffee talk’ that often comes up about the rentals, such as what others have rented, what they thought, and friendly suggestions about what a renter should rent.” It’s common for members to bump into friends hanging out at the cafe. And we’re regularly witness to, and sometimes even assist in, people meeting others with similar interests. We’re fortunate to count some of the city’s coolest cats as members.
