UPDATED MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR

Well kids,

I know that it's only August... However, lately I have felt something different inside myself that I haven't felt for months. It's not an unfamiliar sensation, in fact it's the opposite. This is as familiar as the sensation of a bowel movement after a night full of eating prunes and drinking apple juice. It's that familiar feeling that winter is in the air... No, it's not quite here yet. It is still awaiting its welcome home party in a few months. However, there is a smell in the air, and a flutter in our stomachs for the long awaited 2007 ski season to finally arrive.

After walking into the kitchen last night, and upon seeing a "SKIING" magazine on the dinner table I knew the pow pow bug had taken a bite. I giggled with delight as I turned the crisp pages and viewed the new 2007 ski gear that I so lustfully long for.

It wasn't about the magazine or the ski gear that I can't afford, but will probably manage to buy anyway. It was about the feeling we all know very well. That first realization that the sun cannot shine it's blazing rays forever. It's the realization that your life is about to resume where it left off at the end of the winter last year. It's the realization that you are a skier, and will be till the day you die. It's the unstoppable bliss of winter that can never be taken away from any of us!

Perhaps I am too hasty in my excitement. Perhaps I should wait a few more months before sleeping with my skis. Maybe it's a little early to check the weather everyday to see if there is a potential blizzard heading my way... Maybe...

However that my friends is all part of the ever turning circle of the seasons. The circle is unstoppable, and no matter what those winter haters do, they can't stop us!

We have a date with our ski's and Mrs. Powder in a few months, and I tell you my friends. That is ONE date, that I will NOT find an excuse to miss. I fully intend on a second and third date as well... In fact, I've often considered marriage, but unfortunetely I'm a taken man.
