about the site:
my focus group is everyone. i have literally invited everyone you can browse that live within 5 miles of zip 49201. needless to say, my mouse finger hurts! i've invited guys, girls, gays, lesbians, bisexauls, 'not known', christians, catholics, protestants, other, muslims, bhuddists, scientologists, athiests- everyone regardless of age, gender, sexaulity, faith or race.
my goal is for this to become a cross-section of the city. i want people to post peotry, stories, reports, shows, concerts, band promotion, buy, sell, advertise, help wanted, for hire, plans, ideas, ad infintum. my short term goal is to get as many people on here as possible. why:

goal ..1: increasing networking of jackson residents. getting news and information out asap. the more networked this town is, the more easily the cool things that are going on in town can get off the ground.

goal ..2: increase the communication within city residents. allow people to feel that they are in control of what happens by being informed, making informed decisions and being able to talk about them in a free and uncensored air. when people feel empowered, they take action, it takes many individuals to make change, and empowered people taking action inevitably work together.

reason ..1: i am someone who always ends up in town and immediately rest my hand on the pulse of the it. impulsively i meet and befriend the right people and hear about all the cool things going on. many others do not. very few know of ART 634, or the grassroots uprising of the creative class in jackson. i want people to know what's going on and to get involved with whatever they like. the more i talk to people about the site, the more information i get about what is going on- and the more i'm aware of the awesome things that are just taking fruition!

this is not a sycophantic action. i'm not in it for fame or popularity (though never be afraid to honk, or say hi in person). i am not trying to professional. i am not trying to make this as official function. i am not doing this for just me. i am doing this for YOU.
