Comedy Warz was founded in the fall of 1999 by Todd Geritz. CW performs on a little stage near the coffee shop area in MU's Memorial Union.

Geritz left and the second year of CW featured return players such as "grad student" Nick Vatterott, Seniors Eric Mack, Renny McKay, Krazy Karl, junior Jim Callahan, sophomore Nick Mahoney and others including freshman newcomer Mike Hall. The show began performing every week and they changed the spelling to Wars, for no real reason.

The third year of CW was home to many changes. There was now a four man team of Callahan, Mahoney, Vatterott as well as Mike Hall, and the "Fab Four" made every Wednesday at 9:30 the preferred time.

Year four saw Hall as the lone holdover, as graduation to the next level of school and life took away the other three members. The "Six Pack" formed in the fall of '02 included Hall, seniors Sam Babalola and Kevin Allen, juniors Steve Lippo and Nathan Stewart and freshman Brian Sturgill. Two CW originals were invented this year. M.I.P.- the Mizzou Improv Players- began in the winter of '03 performing for 20 minutes as a warmup show and training ground for CW. And the end of April saw Texas beating kU in the first annual Mizzou hosted Big 12 Improvitational- the Big 12 Championship of Improv. The final accolade earned by CW was when MSA asked CW to write and star in two commercials ran locally on ESPN, MTV and VH1.

The 2003-2004 season started with shows routinely drawing crowds of over 500 people. The enormous size forced CW to change their stage location to a larger, more open area in Memorial Union. The fall of 2003 also saw the first ever CW Book Signing, where passers by were able to bring any book up to CW members and they would sign it. Hall, Lippo, Stewart and Sturgill started the year, but before semester's end sophomore Spencer Ham joined CW. Ham represents the first ever member of MIP to move up to Comedy Wars.

In 2004 the reigns were handed to Sturgill and Ham. At last record... both were lost in a wind storm.
