Group Leader:

**I am still working on this group. I won't begin marketing it until it is done. So, if you've just stumbled upon the group, please hang in there!**

The Philadelphia Music Scene has become so rich with amazing talent, dedicated fans, and unbelieveable venues. We are all so lucky to be a part of this, and this group is the place to talk about it! Talk about well-known bands and venues, up and coming musicians, the best ways to get the word out for your band, companies offering services beneficial to the scene, great shows...anything and everything related to LOCAL ORIGNAL MUSIC!
This group is in the beginning stages, so please feel free to send me a personal message, with suggestions and information! Thanks!

RULES

1. SPAM: I'm going to be pretty lax on my definition of SPAM as I want people to feel free to promote, however, don't be an asshole. Don't try to sell things that are unrelated (i.e. no "Check out my webcam!"). Thanks!

2. Be Nice: Sounds obvious, but people can get pretty nasty on message boards. Don't do it. This is a place to discuss, not fight.

*If you violate these rules, you risk being kicked out of the group. And believe me, you don't want that. This is the most kick-ass board around!*

IKE

The four members of IKE freely admit that they never thought they would end up being such a close-knit, well, BAND. Lead singer and songwriter John Faye originally assembled the group under the moniker "The John Faye Power Trip," after years of fronting the 90's alt-rock band The Caulfields (A&M Recs.), whose radio hit "Devil's Diary" (aka "bigger than Jesus") gave Faye a loyal international fanbase. But what started as a solo project has evolved into something that very much feels and sounds like a great American rock band. Having shared stages with the likes of REM, Cracker, Train, Better Than Ezra, and having toured extensively with Matthew Sweet, IKE is accomplishing more as a DIY indie band than many major label acts that get lost in the shuffle. Fueled by their full-length CD Parallel Universe, which spawned the regional radio hit "Deathbed (Na, Na, Na)," AND a new DVD Bumper Sticker Wisdom (containing a music video for "Deathbed"), IKE has performed over 300 shows together from large concert venues down to their intimate "Living Room Shows." Capping off a great 2004 with a feature in Vanity Fair magazine and song placements in the ABC soap "All My Children," IKE has just released their new full-length CD In Real Life in September of 2005. The band recorded the album with legendary Philly producer Phil Nicolo at Studio 4.

IKE's "Into Philadelphia" has been added to regular rotation on WMMR. Please support local music and request IKE!
