In essesnce S.D.B.P. is a social gathering of people who want to get together and get outside, get in motion, share ideas, thoughts, and laughs from the seat of a bike.

"No Rider Left Behind"
The heart of SDBP involves having a goodtime while doing something different in an environment of socially aware individuals. While not inherently political, SDBP has taken some lessons from critical mass bike rides---recognizing that the way we travel influences how we think and how we interact with our environment and the people/world around us. While SDBP is focused on alternate social gatherings, the consequences and awareness that 100s of bikes on the road generates can't be discounted in terms of its social and political impact. At the very least, getting people on the street to stop and look, and maybe even think about what SDBP is.
For now SDBP will be a social gathering, maybe even a nexus for interaction with like and not-so-like minded people, in the future it will be whatever we make it!
