Brian Chrupalyk (born in 1982 in Philadelphia) has been playing the stages in Southeastern Pennsylvania since the age of 15, after picking up a guitar at 12. With no formal lessons, Brian simply played thru emotions and desire. Seeing it as his destiny to perform, he played open mic nights at local cafes around Hatboro PA, where he wooed the crowd with his guitar talent and attempted to "sing".

With aspirations in acting and comedy also, Brian began writing scripts, songs (both funny and serious). Knowing he couldn't be much of an asset without a voice he continued to TRY to sing. It wasn't until John Smith of "Dog Dreams", formed a band around his guitar playing that his singing became usable. The band was called "The Burners" (after originally deciding on "New Storm") ... The Burners featured original members of "Dog Dreams" such as Joe Deluca, Dan Frank, and Dave Thomas. Brian served as lead guitarist (using electric, acoustic, and slide), until Joe Deluca made the suggestion of singing "No Clue" a jumpy old time rock song Brian had written a few years back. Slightly whimsical but serious nonetheless, it became a instant favorite at Burners shows...being the first and only song featuring Brian's lead vocal.

Soon "Play Me For A Fool", and "That Rose" co-written with Carlee Consagra, & "Electrafied" originally a Descenders song (Joes former band) became songs Brian lent his now infamous vocal to. After a few more shows John decided to retire "The Burners", by taking a step down off stage, to become producer. This move was made to give Brian the mic as lead vocalist along with being lead guitarist. A difficult combo but one he had been dreaming of since 8 years old.

After he took the stage the band coined the name "Brian's Curse" for a few reasons... mainly because Brian's songs reflected his difficult and at times painful personal life. Mainly on the subject of relationships... it also served as showing that it was more of a solo group since in the studio the band sometimes consisted of only Brian, or Brian and Joe. Brian started with guitar, moved to drums, then bass, piano, and even harmonica. It was to be recognized that it was a solo group with the original members serving as back up musicians. The addition of Rich Relleva (Dog Dreams, The Descenders) solidified the 3 part harmony vocals. The writing progressed, the lead vocal was improving, the music was diversifying, and the response was great.

In early 2003 the first studio album "Fragile Lil Heart" was release by Brian's Curse. Featuring "I Still Cry', "Things Gotta Change", "What I Want", and "The Rebel That You Are" among other songs on a 12 song disc of southern rock based music. Listeners quickly grabbed it up and enjoyed. Few shows followed, due to extensive time in the studio working on the jam packed new record in production. Set to come out in late 2005, it is sure to be the best new CD in your collection. The sound is slightly different as well, a little less southern rock, and a little more rock and blues with some touching ballads and all the trimmings. The band is also back and ready to resume all touring duties beginning December 2005. You are witnessing the beginning of change in music... real music is coming back stronger than ever. The Curse is going to roll through your town and take you by storm. Don't be the last to jump on.
