When there are no cookies left on the plate, he eats the plate. He is also good at solving problems when he tries to reach a goal, usually getting cookies. His best friend is Ernie. When Bert is out of town, he often stays at Ernie's place. But Kermit is also often a victim of Cookie's hungre. Cookie Monster has a very special way of talking (“Me want cookie”). Cookie Monster debuted in 1969 as an anonymous monster who ate the letter "W" during a sketch with Kermit.
Cookie Monster was built in the late 60's for a Potato Chip Commercial, His name was Arnold. He didnt make it to the small screen because the Potato Chip company did not want to portray the image of a Monster eating there Chips.
On the set, they seldom used real cookies for Cookie to eat, but they used rice crackers in stead.
